Clear Chest Congestion and Cough

Effective products to loosen, a few remedies you may want to consider. colds and flu-like symptoms, take NAC as soon as symptoms appear, and for COPD

A dry cough with congestion that is deep in the chest can interfere with breathing and linger for months. Finding effective products to loosen and expel it can require trial and error, however, here are a few remedies you may want to consider.

What are some benefits of the amino acid N-Acetyl-Cysteine (NAC):

NAC is a potent antioxidant, as is ALA,  however, NAC raises glutathione levels. It is the standard treatment for acetaminophen overdose and protects the liver while taking acetaminophen. NAC helps the respiratory system function and keeps the membranes moist against dry air, dust, and pollutants. It helps red blood cell production and taken with folic acid and B12, may increase hemoglobin levels. When taken over a period of time, it removes toxic metals such as mercury.

For colds and flu-like symptoms, take NAC as soon as symptoms appear, and for COPD, 600mg at bedtime. Take 500 mg of vitamin C three or four times a day. Vitamin C is water soluble and therefore needs to be taken frequently in lower doses rather than one or two high doses that will exit in urine.

Since there is a potential for NAC to cause kidney stones,  it is recommended to take three times more dose of vit. C to NAC, or at least the same dose amount. Diabetics should consult their physician as it may block insulin. A typical dose is 500-1500 mg. per day taken either a half hour before, or two hours after, eating to avoid competing with protein for absorption. A few foods for COPD are wild Alaskan salmon, dark leafy greens, blueberries, and organic apples.

What are some benefits of Turmeric:

Turmeric is a yellow colored herb widely used in India. It has antibacterial, anti-viral anti-inflammatory action that helps relieve chest congestion. The medicinal component in turmeric is curcumin.

Roast the turmeric root and grind into a powder. Add the powder to boiling water and inhale the vapors for chest, nasal and sinus’. Take a teaspoon with honey two times a day. Stir 1/2 tsp in warm herbal tea or hot water.Turmeric can also be obtained in capsule form.

What are some benefits of Chlorophyll:

Greek word khloros for light green and phylon for leaf, discovered by two French chemists in 1817. Plants need this to carry out photosynthesis, the process that creates oxygen by mixing water and sun. Its molecular structure is similar to a critical part of human blood except the central atom is magnesium instead of iron.

By maintaining the appropriate alkalinity and oxygen levels of the body, it prevents the growth of pathogens. Chlorophyll is effective against various respiratory infections and other conditions such as cold, rhinitis and sinusitis.

Chlorophyll improves the functioning of the colon, liver, bladder, and stomach. It breaks down and gets rid of calcium oxalate stones that help to protect against bile stones, liver problems, an inflamed colon, excessive stomach acid, etc.

Since it has large amounts of vitamins A, C, E, K, beta carotene, calcium, magnesium, and fatty acids, it is a powerful antioxidant, and therefore, anti-inflammatory. You should eat spinach, but don’t forget about the other leafy greens like chard, lettuce, broccoli, cabbage, asparagus, cilantro, green beans, celery and spirulina. Steam just until tender as overcooking tends to destroy nutrients, and try to eat it as raw as possible.

Are You Getting Enough Magnesium

magnesium

Magnesium is an important mineral that helps regulate blood sugar and blood pressure. It creates protein and strengthens bones and the immune system. Involved in heart, nerve and muscle function, magnesium may also help to prevent liver problems.

Food processing, soil conditions and dietary habits all play a role in decreasing levels of magnesium. Vitamin and mineral depletion in the soil has been linked to the use of pesticides and fertilizers by some experts. Also, the amount of magnesium in refined oils, sugar and grains have been reduced to almost zero.

Mother Earth News, Charles Benbrook, Ph.D. and agricultural expert explained:

High nitrogen levels make plants grow fast and bulk up with carbohydrates and water. Although the produce is heavier and larger, they lack in nutritional quality.

Dr. Mildred Seelig, author of The Magnesium Factor:

If restaurant, homemade, or store-bought food contains fat, refined flour, and/or sugar as one or more of the major ingredients, it is a low-magnesium, and quite possibly high-calorie, food. A steady diet of such foods year after year can produce a magnesium deficit. The deficiency can develop in to metabolic syndrome X, a major factor in heart disease.

Foods that contain magnesium:

Beans, oats, spinach, curly kale, beet greens, baked potato, artichoke, butternut squash, plantain, Swiss chard, okra, raspberries, blackberries, whole grains, fish, mackerel, halibut, blackeye peas, nuts and cooked quinoa. Spinach, dark chocolate and almonds are good sources for magnesium, however, they contain oxalates that may hinder absorption.

Those who have difficulty digesting foods, or have a liver disorder and the elderly  may become deficient in magnesium.

Symptoms of low magnesium levels:

Low calcium and potassium levels, sodium retention, tremors, fatigue, loss of appetite, numbness, tingling, weakness, muscle spasms, nausea, abnormal heart rhythms and mood changes.

Supplemental Magnesium

There are various forms of magnesium. Oxide is the most prevalent, but is not very effective. Aspartate is not recommended because it is similar to excito-toxins aspartame and msg. Other forms include citrate, malate, glutamate, glycinate, taurinate, lactate, chloride and a few more.

Magnesium lactate and chloride absorb better than the oxide form. Malate is combined with malic acid, which is found in apples, and helps to produce bile. It is also recommended for fibromyalgia and rheumatism. The B vitamins assist in magnesium absorption.

Daily Dose of Magnesium

The amount on average over the age of 19 are 200 to 250 milligrams every day. Not common at this dose, there exist a potential of a toxic overload, therefore an occasional three month program may be all that is needed to boost magnesium levels.

Outbreaks of Measles

Inserts that describe the potential adverse effects of each inoculation are generally included with each batch. Effects that we as patients, are not told about, nor even the physician administering them. The mainstream medical and pharmaceutical industry is not transparent about many of the potential adverse effects. Even that some are capable of spreading the virus they claim to prevent.

Many, and maybe most, pediatricians receive bonus checks from their insurance carriers. Amounts are based on the percentage of patients the doctor has that are immunized within preset time periods.

Outbreaks of measles have occurred among the immunized. The outbreak in California had an 85% inoculation rate. This information came out in a one-time report from KYW 1060. It is extremely rare for mainstream media channels to report negative effects caused by immunizations. Mainstream media are owned and funded by people involved in pharmaceuticals.

How Vaccines are Made

Growing viruses and bacteria for a vaccine requires an un-clean medium for them to propagate.

To grow a virus or bacteria
Growing viruses and bacteria requires an un-clean medium for them to propagate. This can be in the form of animal tissue, human blood products, gmo yeast and aborted fetal tissue. Fetal tissue is a preferred choice due to the otherwise potential contamination with animal diseases and cross-transfer of animal DNA to humans.

Avian eggs or cells derived from foul embryos have been, and remain to be, commonly used to grow viruses and bacteria. Other serums, such as polio, were grown in monkey kidney cells obtained by killing them for cell cultures. This not only puts a drain on the monkey population, but also carries the risk of monkey viruses such as SV40, which was found to cause cancer in humans.

High risks are involved with using human fetal tissue, including the transference of diseases and genetic material the fetus was carrying while in the womb. Human parts can cause the production of antibodies to human tissue. Children produce antibodies to every component of each vaccine, not simply the viruses. This can cause demylination of the nerves and auto immune disorders. Children given the MMR who later suffered autism have been found to have antibodies to their own brain tissue. This may be a consequence of using fetal tissue in the MMR.

Present in the blood of autistics are high levels of non-inherited antibodies that conflict with the body’s brain tissue.

Antibiotics in Livestock Lead to Resistance

Antibiotic resistance:

One method being employed to curb resistance to antibiotics is to lessen the amounts used by meat farmers and ranchers. Animals raised for food in the U.S. are given about six times more compared to Norway and Denmark. The U.S. uses far more antibiotics in livestock than many other nations.

An annual report recently stated, the amount of medically important antibiotics sold for use in animals raised for meat grew by 16 percent from 2009 to 2012. A pattern that experts said was troubling given the efforts to battle antibiotic resistance in humans.

Farmers began adding antibiotics to feed and water, with no prescriptions or sign of sickness in the animals, when they noticed how they grew faster. Broad use leads to resistance and critical antibiotics are no longer as effective in treating infections in people.

In 2013, a federal policy was introduced to encourage antibiotic manufacturers to change the labels. Meat producers would no longer be able to use antibiotics to make animals grow faster. They would also need a prescription from a veterinarian for sick animals. However, they could counter with the argument that they are using the drugs to maintain the health of the animals rather than to grow faster.

Liver Care

Maintaining a healthy liver, a true workhorse of the human body for well-being and longevity.

The liver is a strong organ, but as with most everything, it needs to be taken care of and maintained.

The liver is the largest organ in the body and has a mighty task. It cleanses the systems from toxicity and waste product every moment of every day. Blood flows through carrying oxygen to the liver which also cleanses the blood.

The Position of the Liver

Since hepatitis, inflammation of the liver that sometimes includes a virus, eventually damages the liver, even to the degree of hepatocellular carcinoma, which is liver cancer, it generally requires a stubborn commitment in the search to destroy it.

In order to find weapons that are truly effective for this particular warfare, a good amount of persistence is necessary. Methods offered by mainstream medicine (MDs) greatly differ from homeopaths, herbalists and osteopaths (DOs).

Diagnosis of the Hepatitis C Virus (hcv) remains to be on a steady incline, almost as if it has become an epidemic. Because the hcv has the ability to mutate and hide, it is difficult to eradicate. Difficult as it may be, it is not impossible to lower the viral load, even to an undetectable level! There are several types of Hepatitis C that seem to appear according to country. The one most prevalent in the U.S. is type 1a. Up to the present time, type 1a has been the most difficult to cure or reduce the viral load.

Both the liver and blood are two important mechanisms that must perform well to maintain good health.

Bipolar and Natural Therapy

Many people are diagnosed with bipolar, a chemical imbalance in the brain thata causes a mood imbalance of highs and lows. These mood changes may occur as a reaction to various things such as a lack of sleep, reaching a threshold of allergens, loud noises for a prolonged period, stress or lack of nutritional intake.

Symptoms and the severity differ from person to person and one may go for long durations without experiencing any symptoms. Studies show that much more time is spent in a depressive episode than in a manic state.

Medications such as lithium or Depakote for mania, Wellbutrin anti-depressant, and Seroquel for sleep can be helpful in maintaining a balanced state and are taken on a daily basis. Since the chemical makeup is individual, the effectiveness varies from one person to the next. One person will do very well on a particular medication that another won’t be able to tolerate the effects at all. There are other medicines to try that may work better. It may take two to three weeks to get a good idea of how effective a newly introduced medication is. When adverse effects occur, the doctor needs to be consulted about it as soon as possible.

Natural Therapy

Natural remedies are also helpful to maintain chemical balance. Some of these consist of selenium, St. John’s Wort (although this might stimulate mania) and 100 mg a day of 5-htp (only when not taking medications) all of which help manufacture serotonin and are antioxidants. Omega 3 in the form of fish oil or 2 to 3 tablespoons daily of ground flaxseed to clear fogginess, and improve fatigue and circulation. Psyllium as a source of fiber, passion flower and/or skullcap for calming as well as homeopathic biochemic tissue salts to soothe nerves and restore harmony.

A quality form of vitamin c with bioflavanoids, amino acids and MSM are also restorative. ALA is a great antioxidant and choline makes acetylcholine for memory and transports lipids from the liver. Magnesium with D promotes restful sleep, steady heartbeat, and helps to relax spasms and tight muscles. Some treatments add magnesium to stop symptoms of the rapid recycling of mania. Some bipolars have shown to have differences in the levels of magnesium in their blood. The dose of high blood pressure medication may need to be lowered while taking magnesium, for those with high blood pressure.

Metal Toxicity

Metal detox is another method to assist with the chemical imbalance from bipolar; the toxicity being caused primarily from vaccine additives, air pollution and car exhaust fumes. Metals such as mercury, aluminum, lead and cadmium can gain a foothold through neurons into cells and become afixed. Some metals are capable of replacing the receptor sites for zinc which can cause a zinc deficiency and is fairly common. Food colorings, msg, some sweetners and preservatives all have the potential to behave as excitotoxins to the neurons as well.

Metal detox may cause an immune reaction which can stir up a healing sickness. The system may react in an attack mode similar to a germ infestation foreign to the body as they are pulled out into the flow. This may last from 3 days to 3 to 6 weeks afterward. The chinese parseley, cilantro, eaten or taken every day for a few weeks helps to cleanse metals from cell tissues. Chlorella helps to excrete them from the body. Dandelion root and milk thistle help strengthen and protect the kidneys and liver.

Refined sugar intake depletes the body of B vitamins because they are used up by turning sugar into energy. A low glycemic-load diet is recommended; whole foods, vegetables, fruits and regular meals.
